New Layout Latest
I have added some photos to show the progress of my “new layout”. At the moment this new N Gauge layout does not have a name, and although I have been working on it for more than 6 months I haven’t quite nailed a name.
However I have been making some excellent progress with the station area. The new platforms have been built and include for the first time LED lighting across the station. This has revolutionised the layout and even with almost zero scenery it looks fantastic.
The LEDs came from Jennifer @ https://www.smallscalelights.co.uk/ who have a good range of lights and exactly what I was looking for in N Gauge. They were so good that after I bought one pack, I immediately bought 4 more. (As a reminder I do not receive anything for these links, I just want to share good products I discover).
The latest milestone with the layout is I can actually PLAY TRAINS!!! A hugely important part for me is to watch the trains go round or spend some time simply shunting about and I am happy to say the layout is working. I still have some more track to install for the engineering sidings and the all important diesel depot, but for now I can happily run trains.
Turning the lights off and seeing the station lit up as if it is night time is a great touch.
I have now added a new section to the website for the New Layout with a gallery and some background details. As I keep working on the layout I will add further updates. I hope you enjoy the photos!
