As fun as it is keeping my old stock of trains running, I thought I deserved a new loco to play with.

A new Class 37 was released this week and I have just spent some time running it in. I haven’t had a “new tooled” loco in a long time and I am thrilled with the detailing and running so far.
The only problem I have seen is that its ultra-realistic profiling means it has an almost zero tollerance to wobbly track or points. Within the first 5 minutes I spotted the train was stalling on a straight piece of track only for me to spot that an entire section had warped in the recent heat wave. All the other locos ran fine over it, but I had to spend an hour replacing a length of track. Talk about emergency engineering work!
I hope to run this beautiful Class 37 with the Network Rail coaches and the occasional pullman special. And eventually the Revolution Trains “Caroline” observation car I have on order!!
